Privacy Policy

CADDE Internships ("CADDE", "we", "us") connects Ghanaian university students with employers offering internships, on the web and in our mobile app. This page explains what information we collect, why, and what you can do about it. It's written in plain language rather than dense legal text. If anything is unclear, contact us using the details at the bottom.

What we collect

• Account information: name, email address, phone number (required), and whether you're signing up as a student or employer. You can also create an account or sign in using Sign in with Google, in which case Google shares your name, email, and profile picture with us.
• Student profile data: university, course, year of study, GPA or CWA (whichever grading scale your university uses), skills, bio, LinkedIn URL, profile photo, and your CV/résumé file.
• Employer profile data: company name, industry, location, logo, and (if you request Verified status) a business registration document and registration number.
• Application activity: the internships you apply to or post, cover notes, application status, AI match scores and feedback, and offer details.
• Messages: messages and file attachments exchanged between students and employers through CADDE.
• Payment information: when an offer is accepted, a one-time platform fee is paid through our payment processor, Paystack (by card or mobile money). We store the transaction reference and status so we can confirm the payment; we never see or store your card number, mobile money PIN, or full account details; Paystack handles that directly.
• Push notification token: if you use our mobile app and allow notifications, we store a device token (via Google's Firebase Cloud Messaging) so we can deliver alerts like new messages or application updates to your phone. You can turn this off in your phone's notification settings at any time.

Why we collect it

We use your information to: match students to relevant internships and score applications with AI, let employers review and verify applicants, enable messaging between matched students and employers, confirm the offer-acceptance fee, prevent fraud and impersonation (for example, verifying employers and flagging listings that ask for illegitimate fees), and send you emails or push notifications about your account activity (applications, status changes, messages, and password resets).

Who we share it with

We don't sell your data. A small number of service providers process it on our behalf, strictly to run CADDE:

• Supabase: hosts our database, authentication, and file storage (CVs, logos, verification documents).
• Resend: sends transactional emails (application updates, messages, password resets).
• Google (Gemini AI): powers the AI that scores applications and gives coaching feedback; your CV text and the internship details are sent to it for this purpose only. Google is also used for the optional "Sign in with Google" login and, on the mobile app, to deliver push notifications (Firebase Cloud Messaging).
• Paystack: our payment gateway; it processes the offer-acceptance fee directly (card or mobile money) and is a licensed Ghanaian/Nigerian payment provider.

Employers and students only see the profile information relevant to an application or conversation between them. For example, an employer cannot see a student's contact details unless that student has applied to one of their listings.

How long we keep it

We keep account and application data for as long as your account is active, so your application history and messages remain available to you. If you ask us to delete your account, we'll remove your personal data except where we're required to keep records (for example, payment records for accounting purposes).

Your rights

You can access, correct, or ask us to delete your personal data at any time by contacting us (details below). If you delete your CV or profile fields yourself in the app, that takes effect immediately.

Cookies and local storage

On the web, CADDE uses your browser's local storage (not tracking cookies) to keep you signed in between visits. In the mobile app, your session is stored securely on your device. We don't run third-party advertising or analytics trackers.

Changes to this policy

If we make material changes to this policy, we'll update the effective date above and, where appropriate, notify you in the app.
